Agapanthus

Bamboo and Agapanthus at Adelaide Zoo

Adelaide Zoo is fantastic.  I read somewhere that it is not just a zoo, but a garden where animals live.  There are many bamboo plantings especially around the Giant Panda exhibit, and the rows of agapanthus are beautiful.

Agapanthus at Southbank

The "aggies" are coming out now.  There are some tall buds pushing skywards in the garden here, but these were in full bloom in Brisbane's Southbank on Saturday.  We don't see "beds" of them here - I think I saw in New Zealand great fields of them, and they are spectacular.

Agapanthus

We have a number of Agapanthus plants at home and from time to time

We have had a wonderful "festival" of blooms. They are good plants to grow during our drought, as they take little water, but they do need to be cared for. I have white and blue ones in my garden.
